March 30 – Everyday Joe’s

everyday-joes

Everyday Joe’s Coffee was the site of the first NoCo Bloggers Meetup. I took a great picture of everyone smiling, light looked o.k., but the shutter was open just a bit too long and it’s blurry. Then I took another with the flash – and everyone looked drunk. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that state of being, except its documentation by a stranger.)

The building was originally a gas station in the 1920s (?). Now it is a church 1 day a week and a coffee house the rest. Great business, great architecture, great coffee, kind souls.

March 29 – Singapore Stamps

stamps

I joined the Association of Mathematics Educators, based in Singapore. Four times a year, I get a wonderful research journal that costs a bundle to mail. I’m so glad they don’t have a postage meter.

Maybe it’s time to take up stamp collecting! I have one from Kenya that depicts the Last Supper. The image of jesus has a distinct resemblance to then president Papa Moi.

March 28 – Library Art

library

This is the art installation hanging from the ceiling of the Council Tree branch of the local library. The library opened today and was PACKED!

I couldn’t find info on the artist and will add it in the future.

March 27 – Snow Day!

busy-day-on-the-hill

Yesterday, the whopper arrived – the biggest storm all winter. It was icy, Fort Collins got over a foot in snow, and they sent the kids home at 11am. Today was a “snow day”.

Looks rough out, doesn’t it?

March 25 – Sunny snow?

dusting

We’ve been promised a whopper of a storm tomorrow. An inch or two tonight, then whammo!  Feet. It was over 70 degrees all weekend long.

At 5pm or so it started, ever so slightly, to snow. The specks in the picture are not dust.

Personal Commandments

See the big picture. (and get a shot of it!) Step up. Give back. Do something different. Make a lot of mistakes, but never the same ones twice. Be ridiculously happy. Action, not reaction. learn, laugh, love.

Haba na haba, hujaza kibaba.

Be the Change!
